Remix: Selections from the Collection of Contemporary Art

Since the summer of 2020, the Kunsthalle Bremen has been presenting a radical new look at its collection. Visitors can make surprising discoveries of well-known masterpieces that have been taken out of storage. German and French art enter into a creative discourse. Galleries with specific themes addressing global trade, climate change and religious struggles explore issues that have affected humanity for centuries. The new arrangement of the collection links regional perspectives to major global events and in the process, it bridges the gap between the medieval period and the present.

The collection presentation “Remix” is constantly changing: From 26 February to 6 November 2022, a selection of contemporary art will be shown in five galleries on the ground floor. Many of these pieces have become a part of the Kunsthalle Bremen’s collection in recent years. On display are works by Abel Auer, Tilo Baumgärtel, Nina Beier, Christian Haake, Toulu Hassani, Franziska Holstein, Manfred Holtfrerich, Jub Mönster, Ulrike Müller, Alexander Tovborg, Rosemarie Trockel, Neo Rauch, Arne Schmitt.
